In an article in Mongabay, writer Liz Kimbrough reports that area-based conservation efforts are not #protectingbiodiversity as planned, according to a new review, emphasising that indigenous peoples and local communities’ representation in decision making is paramount, as an estimated 36% of ecologically intact forests lie within their territories.
